Mesut
Ozil has largely dubbed as a flop since arriving at Arsenal, with many still
not convinced.
But in research put together by the CIES observatory, Ozil has
been revealed as the joint best creative midfielder in the world – alongside
Chelsea’s Eden Hazard.
Looking across the five major leagues (Premier League, Serie A, La
Liga, Bundesliga and Ligue 1), CIES ranked players on ‘rigour’, ‘recovery’,
‘distribution’, ‘take on’, ‘chance creation’ and ‘shooting’.
All the important stuff then.
Arsenal have a double cause for celebration, with Santi Cazorla
also making the top 15.
