Chelsea
look set to be without Diego Costa for the visit of Manchester United later
this month, with the striker’s hamstring injury reportedly worse than first
feared – but he’s fighting to be fit for the Blues’ trip to Arsenal.
Costa came on as a half-time substitute during Chelsea’s 2-1
victory over Stoke on Saturday, but managed just 10 minutes before being forced
off again with the hamstring problem.
The Blues had initially hoped their top goalscorer would only be
absent for this weekend’s local derby with relegation strugglers QPR, but
according to the Telegraph Costa will also miss the following weekend’s clash
with Man United.
Jose Mourinho’s side remain seven points clear at the top of the
Premier League table, with a game in hand over their rivals, but will not want
to allow Arsenal to narrow the gap ahead of a visit to the Emirates at the end
of the month.
