Inter Milan’s hopes of European
football next season suffered a heavy blow tonight as they were beaten by
Sampdoria thanks to an Eder Strike at the Estadio Comunale Luigi Ferraris.
Inter attacked with impetus all
through the first half but were unable to break Sampdoria down as Sampdoria
were resilient in defense. Inter looked to break the deadlock in the second
half but it was Sampdoria who ended up doing the scoring as they gained control
for a brief period before Eto’s set up Eder whose shot went past Handanovic to
give Sampdoria the lead. Inter Milan searched desperately for an equalizer but
Sampdoria held firm to earn a precious win
Sampdoria have now leap-frogged
Napoli into fourth place and are hot on the heels of Lazio with ten matches to go
in the Serie A
