Chelsea
are reportedly making a last-ditch move to sign Real Madrid midfielder Sami
Khedira.
The German World Cup winner, who is out of contract at the end of
the season, is available on a free transfer.
He’s
held talks with Schalke over a deal, but reports in Spain say Chelsea are looking to
hijack the move and haven’t given up hope of signing him.
Khedira is looking for a £100,000-a-week contract at his next
club, and the Blues would be able to pay that easily.
Arsenal have previously been linked with the 27-year-old and tried
hard to sign him last summer.
