Fenerbahce’s team bus shot at on way back from Turkish Super Lig match

An investigation has been launched after Fenerbahce’s team bus was shot at gun men on the way back from a match.
The Fenerbahce squad were travelling to Trabzon airport after a 5-1 victory over Rizespor in the Turkish Super Lig when the attack happened.
Local police say the shots came from a rifle, with damage visible on the bus, while the driver was wounded and taken to hospital.
The Turkish Football Federation general secretary Mahmut Uslu described the incident as ‘very wrong’, before adding: ‘We come here to do sport, we come to play football.’
Fenerbahce are currently top of the league and are title holders, with former Premier League stars Dirk Kuyt, Raul Meireles and Emre in their ranks.
