According
to Sunday Sun, Thato Makgaka claimed that the football player was bound
to have ‘doctored’ the results of the DNA test, after he challenged her to do a
paternity test publicly
Thato, a DJ and former Miss Soweto,
said in February that she won’t accept a challenge from Oupa to do a public DNA
test, because she doesn’t trust his motives. But she succumbed to his request,
reportedly amidst pressure from his lawyer and his family.
“We will do a paternity test via the Maintenance Court. Because I believe his
confidence in doing public tests could possibly be rigged by Oupa who could pay
for the results to be fiddled with, to fit in with the story he has been
telling (sic)”, she said at the time.
“Do you think I would have done the
tests if the baby was not his? I’ll never embarrass myself like that. I think
they cooked the results”
Speaking to the publication after
the results of the DNA test – conducted last week at a Johannesburg pathology
lab – negated Thato’s claims that Oupa is the father of her four-month-old
baby, Kganya, she said: “They know what they did. Do you think I would have done
the tests if the baby was not his? I’ll never embarrass myself like that. I
think they cooked the results.”
Meanwhile,
Oupa has been gloating about being proven right, and has even gone so far as to
say that he expects an apology
“I knew from
the outset that I was not the father of that child and Thato put my career in
jeopardy with her lies,” the Sunday Sun quotes him as saying.
“I demand that she apologises for the mess she has caused me. I don’t have time
to sue her. She must just clear my name, finished and klaar,”
The claims of Oupa’s alleged illegitimate child came some nine months after he married Johanna Louw at the start of 2014.
