Mats Hummels slams ‘fictitious’ claims of ‘promise’ to make Manchester United transfer

Bourssia Dortmund’s Mats Hummels insists rumours of him making a promise to join Manchester United are ‘simply fictitious’.

The defender has been linked with a move to Old Trafford since last summer, with speculation mounting ahead of the forthcoming transfer window.

But despite the latest reports suggesting the 26-year-old has given Sir Alex Ferguson his word that he will one day play for Man United, Hummels insists there is absolutely no truth in the rumours.

‘To clarify it: this supposed “promise” is simply fictitious and that’s the friendly formation,’ he tweeted.

The German international may yet be keen on a move to join Louis van Gaal’s side in the summer, especially given Borussia Dortmund’s plight this term.

However, it looks as though any deal between club and player still has to be agreed.
Um es klarzustellen: dieses vermeintliche "Versprechen" ist einfach nur frei erfunden…und das ist noch die freundliche Formulierung.
