Chelsea veteran, John
Terry has signed a new one year deal with Chelsea, this new deal would see the
former England captain stay at the club until the summer of 2016.
Terry has been
impressive on the pitch for Chelsea this season, forming a very formidable
defensive partnership with Gary Cahill. Terry captained Chelsea to the capital
one cup victory this season, including scoring the opening goal in the match.
Terry stated that he was delighted to have signed an extension with the club.
Terry told reporters “I’m delighted to have signed an extension to my contract
with Chelsea.” Jose Mourinho was also delighted to have the defender sign for
another year saying
“This new contract is not to say ‘thank you very much'; it is because John continues to perform, he is a top defender. I am happy that he completely deserves this new contract after a season where he has already played 40 matches.”
Chelsea moved quickly to
ensure that they did not make the same mistake they made with Lampard, allowing
the club icon to join title rivals, Manchester City
