Kerry Washington Asumogha Delivers Powerful Speech at Glaad Awards


Kerry  received the Vanguard awards for promoting equality at the 26th Annual GLAAD media awards on Saturday night and to accept the award, she delivered a touching speech that got the crowd on their feet.

“…On Monday morning, people are going to click a link to hear what that woman from Scandal said at that awards show, and so, I think some stuff needs to be said,” “Women, poor people, people of color, people with disabilities, immigrants, gay men, lesbians, bisexuals, trans people, intersex people: we have been pitted against each other and made to feel like there are limited seats at the table for those of us who fall into the category of ‘other,'” she said.


The gorgeous Scandal star stood up for same-sex rights and called on black people who do not support gay marriage to resist from hate message. She also called on communities who are against each other to come together.
